The holiday season is upon us Betas!

I’m excited to get the gift giving started by participating in Operation Christmas Child and Out of Print Clothing charity drives. Both these are perfect opportunities to give back to others and put a smile on someone’s face.

Members of our club attended the National Beta Club leadership summit at the Great Wolf Lodge earlier this month where they qualified RHHS for national convention in the rapid response competition. Sydney B., Reina M., Sharisse M., Jackie R., Jenna S., and Madison R. all learned how to be better leaders, network and provide others with an understanding of what it’s like to be a Beta.

Convention state and national registration is now open. You can click here for more detailed information. I have been to several conventions and plan to go to next year’s convention as well. There is something for all those wanting to go to the state and/or national trip. Even those who don’t want to participate in competition should still check out the link above. Don’t miss out on all the fun we’ll have at the beach and Disneyworld! Make sure to pick up and turn in a convention registration agreement form in Mrs. Tucker or Spevak’s room located in A-230/A-231. The completed form and beginning payment/deposit is due no later than November 28.

Seniors, the National Beta Club scholarship opens November 1. Seniors who were active members as of June 2016 should apply for the scholarship because several previous members of our club became semi-finalists for the scholarship. Let’s get started in getting prepared for college and take some time to complete the scholarship application.

As always, don’t forget to check the calendar for upcoming service opportunities and meet the requirements to maintain the status of a RHHS Beta. All members need to complete an event, charity, and fundraiser, as well as maintain at least a 3.75 GPA before the end of 1st semester.
