New Year, Even Better Betas!
2017 is officially here, and there is still much to be done
in the name of service before the end of the school year. New charity,
fundraiser, service, and event opportunities are added to the calendar frequently. Participation
in these calendar events is required for each Beta to maintain his/her status as a
member.
Upcoming events include: Spirit night cheering on the wrestling team, and the Moe’s Southwest Grill fundraiser. The chances to serve our community are endless, Betas! Convention is coming soon for all those attending state in Myrtle Beach, February 9-12. This is a great way to get to know Betas from around the state and expand one’s Beta network. Convention is a unique experience for every Beta. My own experience at convention over the years was trans-formative. I was able to learn a little more about myself as a leader, individual, and community member each convention. My second year attending, I ran for South Carolina National Beta Club state president. I lost but took away a lot from the experience. Convention offers something different for everyone. No convention is ever the same experience. Each year there’s a different theme for convention that includes activities and competitions. Events from artistic and talent to political and academic. There is so much to do at convention, and I personally hope every member of the Rock Hill Beta Club chapter gets to experience what convention’s really like! Good luck to those attending this year; let’s continue to grow and learn for next year’s trip!
