New year, new president
Hello, Betas. My name is Jackie Rivera, and it's a great honor for me to serve as your 2017-2018 president for the Rock Hill High School National Beta Club chapter. Now is the time to look forward, to set new goals, to dream new dreams, to try new wings, and to see what lies beyond.
I hope everyone is having an awesome summer so far. This summer has been the ultimate blast for me. I had the opportunity to attend my first National Beta national convention in Orlando, Florida. I'm grateful to have been able to be part of such magical learning adventure. I'm beyond proud of our Beta members for all their dedication and hard work they put forward for all our competitions. Their passion for serving others before self and the act of working together as a team to accomplish tasks was well shown. I'm very proud to announce and congratulate Reina McCullough, Jenna Shaefer, Alora Keenan, Sidney Bonaparte, Amber Burgess, and Emmy James on their spectacular work. We placed top 10 in 2 activities: Meeting of the Minds and Rapid Response, taking home 4th place in rapid response. Excellent job, ladies!
Sadly this summer is reaching its final days, Betas, but let's not pout. Instead, let's look forward to the new school year. We'll post the available shifts for registration, assisting the RHHs academic boosters, and volunteeribg with The Children's Museum Countdown to Kindergarten and the Museum of York County soon. These are great opportunities to earn service time. Efore the school year even starts. On August 9, the officers and committee co-chairs will get together to plan for our upcoming school year. Don't forget, we'll begin inviting new members, informing suspended/probated members, and renewing current members once school starts. If you know that you met all tequirements last school year, you can download and complete the 2017-18 member information sheet under the Member Info tab. You can also submit any outside hours you've served over the summer using the link under the Service Info tab.
I'm looking forward to serving you and working together to develop bright ideas. Enjoy the rest of this hot summer, Betas! See you all in just a few weeks!
