Let's get serving, Betas!

Greetings from your club president! I hope the first few days of school went well for everyone! It's very important we start the school year on the right side, so let's hit it off with a big bang, Betas! As you all know, school rules have been updated: Always wear your IDs on your upper torso and try not to get tempted with taking out electronic devices during class. National Beta Club is all about leaders; let's set the example.

I encourage all invited, returning, and renewing members to turn in your completed member information sheet and resolve your annual club dues for the 2017-18 school year before 2 p.m. on September 15. We are also taking club T-shirt orders for everyone interested in purchasing a comfy long-sleeved, garnet #ROHIBETA shirt for only $5. After that time, the shirt is $15.

Once you compete the member information sheet and resolve your dues, you are eligible to earn service hours and participate in all club activities. Coming up September 12, we will host our first meeting. Due to the new RTI schedule, our monthly meetings have been changed from the second Thursday of each month to Tuesday, and we'll meet during first lunch (room A-230).  I hope to see happy renewing and returning members, and I look forward to meeting our new members! Remember Betas, attending the monthly meetings earns 0.5hrs of service, and we'll also have a door prize for one random winner. Let's get going!

Don't forget to check out our club calendar for new service opportunities, We have paint-the-rock (PtR) shifts, as well as fundraisers and our yearly induction event (only 3 spots left to serve on the crew).

I would like to encourage each of you to attend the Leadership Summit coming up in October, not only because you will grow as a leader or bring back ideas to enhance our club, but it also allows you the opportunity to compete in group leadership, service, and academic areas, qualifying for the national convention next summer. This year we would like to see our attendance numbers increase for all National Beta events, including state and national conventions. They are such life-changing events! You really do get something positively great out of them, but you never know until you live the experience yourself.

One last thing, my fellow Betas, wherever you go serve with pride, lead with confidence, and inspire to impact lives. If you would like more information about the Leadership Summit, state or national convention, or have any questions please feel free to ask away. If you catch me between classes, stop me, and I will gladly answer any questions. Or approach any officer, co-chair, or our sponsors Mrs. Tucker (A-230), Mrs. Spevak (A-231) or Ms.Perez (A-228). My best wishes for every one of my dear Betas! Now, let's get this Beta show on the roaaaad!
